Atomic Research Centre (Barc-India) has developed a patient-friendly, low-cost
non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) module to be used for monitoring blood
pressure in operation theatres and intensive care units.
NIBP
will be the first indigenous non-invasive BP module and the technology has been
developed by the Biomedical Instrumentation section of Electronic Division of
Barc, senior scientific officer of Barc G D Jindal told PTI here. Barc has also
developed Oxygen Saturation Monitor (OSM) using infra-red and red light to
detect the proportion of red blood cells, Jindal said.
