After its success with the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
software, CCE Software Pvt. Ltd. has now developed two products dedicated for
the pharmaceutical and biotechnology production and marketing segments.
The Pharma ERP and Medical Rep Management System have been designed to support
and streamline manufacturing and marketing practices respectively in the pharma-biotech
industry. The company plans to drive growth in 2008-09 with these two products.
It will strengthen marketing footprints across the country besides Malaysia and
Indonesia through channel partners.
In order to support the small and medium pharmaceutical units to go in for
Schedule M or good manufacturing practices (GMP) compliance, Pharma ERP has been
developed as a comprehensive solution to simplify and hasten their process of
achieving GMP certification, Ashis Dutta, director, CCE Software Pvt. Ltd told
Pharmabiz.
Pharma ERP, which features audit trial, standard operating procedures (SOP)
management, vendors approval, batch manufacturing record and material management
is based on the CFR-21 guidelines.
The software is affordable and is developed for the small and medium enterprises
in the pharma-biotech space. With the government of India calling for mandatory
GMP compliance since 2003, units in the drug production segment have been
finding it difficult to adhere to these Schedule M norms.
There was always a need for high quality domain specific software for the
small-medium units. Pharma ERP priced at Rs 5 lakh for the vanilla version is
expected to help companies address GMP compliance requirements. The biggest
advantage is that minimal training is required to use the solution. Further,
there is no need for a 24x7 connectivity but can be linked with the related
departments as and when required.
With the pharma industry being a regulated sector and with international
regulatory compliance being indispensable for contract manufacture which is a
major business opportunity for small and medium units, Pharma ERP increases
effectiveness and improves efficiency of the processes and streamlines internal
operations, stated Dutta.
The company is already in a dialogue with the pharma sector and many units have
evinced interest for Pharma ERP in Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra
Pradesh.
The Medical Rep Management System, web-based solution is recommended for large
and medium sized units and distributors. Priced at Rs 2.5 lakh, it helps to
efficiently manage and optimize the tasks of the pharma marketing personnel. Key
features are that it records hourly productivity and has a market intelligence
mechanism to asses the sales call conversion prospects. If a company has over 50
medical reps on its rolls, this software will provide the return on investment.
A team of 14 developed both Pharma ERP and Medical Rep Management System
software in a span of 24 months. CCE will have channel partners backed by strong
pre-sales technical support. Its personnel from the development teams who have
the worked on the creation of the software will now interface with the
marketing.

Welch Allyn, a leading global manufacturer of medical diagnostic equipment
and a complete range of digital and connected solutions, announced that the
company has launched a new range of FlexiPort blood pressure cuffs, which
connect to virtually any manual or electronic blood pressure device.
Traditional blood pressure cuffs have tubing that is permanently attached to the
cuff. There are one- and two-tube cuff versions and both styles must be
purchased in a full range of different sizes. For the first time, FlexiPort
provides a solution by allowing users to remove and attach the tubing on the
cuff with a single universal connection point. This means that FlexiPort cuffs
can be used on one and two tube devices interchangeably. The end results of
FlexiPort technology are fewer part numbers reduced inventories, and easier
ordering, a company press release stated.
Furthermore, it's quicker and easier for nursing staff to locate the correct
cuff to help ensure an accurate diagnosis is provided and reduce incorrect
readings. The use of a cuff that is the incorrect size in relation to limb
circumference can lead to errors of about 10mmHg but up to 30mmHg which
increases the possibility of over or underestimating blood pressure. Both of
these conditions may lead to incorrect treatment for the patient.
So whether your patient requires their blood pressure to be taken with a spot
check device, hand aneroid, or other device, the Welch Allyn FlexiPort Cuff fits
all--solving the problem of hospitals needing to stock many different types of
cuffs, because one style cuff can now accommodate virtually any blood pressure
device.
The FlexiPort feature is available for both reusable and disposable cuffs, the
release added.
