Biocon Launches Pre-Filled Safety Syringe

Biocon on Wednesday annonced launch of a new drug delivery system, a pre-filled safety syringe device for two of its lifesaving drugs for kidney and cancer patients. The new device , launched in collaboration with US-based Safety Syringes Inc., would reduce the chances of needle stick injuries, Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar shaw said. The products named ‘Erypro Safe’ and ‘Nufil Safe’ have a needle guard that is activated immediately after injecting the patient, thus reducing the chances of needle stick injuries, which often exposes health workers and doctors to chances of picking up of blood borne infections like HC, HB and HIV.

Siemens To Install India's 1st Magnetom Essenza At Aatmajyoti MRI Center

Siemens Medical sSolution will install Magnetom Essenza, a 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging system (MRI) at Aatmajyoti MRI Center, Surat, also the city's first hi-end, affordable MRI. Surat Manav Seva Sangh (popularly known as Chhayando), a charitable trust has set-up this MRI Center in the premises of New Civil Hospital in Surat.

Magnetom Essenza is a powerful 1.5 Tesla system with technological innovations like Tim (Total imaging matrix) technology, IsoCenter Matrix Coil, etc. incorporated into it. Tim technology has revolutionised MR imaging around the world by dramatically changing the workflow as well as improving patient comfort. For instance, a complete examination of the entire central nervous system can be performed in less than 10 minutes, without having to reposition the patient even once. The advantage of IsoCenter Matrix Coil is that the user does not need to carry large, heavy spine coils any more and the patient preparation time is shortened. Magnetom Essenza also has a shorter magnet length than many conventional 1.5 Tesla MR system, making the examination much more pleasant.
