Toray Industries Introduces Water Purifier For Dialysis In
India
Toray Industries Inc. Japan, global leaders in organic synthetic technology,
polymer chemistry and biochemistry materials, is introducing the Torayvino
polysulfone hollow fibre membrane filter water purifier for dialysis. The
product provides 99.9 perr cent bacteria free mineral water. The product is now
made available in India through AK Exports & Imports, Bangalore.
At the product launch across south India, Ashish Tibrawalla, head AK Exports
& Imports stated, "Currently, there is a poor option of water purifier products
in the country. Torayvino polysulfone hollow fibre membrane filter water
purifier has a powerful water purification performance and is a reliable brand
of household water purifier.
The product is compact, user-friendly, highly durable, ensures high
filtration performance, Tibrawalla claimed.
The company has gone in for extensive research initiatives in water treatment
membranes for the development of the water purifier developed on a medical
technology used on artificial kidneys worldwide. The bacteria reduction
performance test complies with the Japan Water Purifier Association (JWPA
voluntary standards for water purifiers. The water filter media has been proven
to remove close to 100 per cent of the indicator bacterium specified in the
standards.
The filter media applied in the water purifiers is activated carbon, hollow
fibre, membranes, reverse osmosis membrane and UV sterilizer. The membrane
consists of macroni shaped fibre that has more than 400 billion micropores in
its wall with the smallest measuring 0.1 micro metre in diameter. The
multilayered micropores securely trap the microscopic impurities, red rust
turbidity, coliform bacilli and protozoa, apart from removing the residual
chlorine and chlorine odour commonly found in tap water.
Available in three models of counter top type, compact faucet mount type and
digital version MK-202, the products are priced at Rs. 10,710, Rs. 3,530 and Rs.
5,050 respectively.
Accoridng to Yoshiyuki Sakai, general manager, Torayvino Deoat, Toray
Industries, the aim of the company was to provide safe drinking water to
consumers and in the process it could capture a major share in the water
purification market in India.
The company has already kicked off its sales efforts in the eastern states of
the country and will now focus on the southern states through 420 dealers and
retail stores. They have chalked out plans to display their products in 800
stores in the south by 2007-08 and set up Torayvino centres in each metro.
