IPA, Bilcare Sign MoU For Packaging
The Indian Pharmaceutical
Association (IPA) and Bilcare has signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) to promote innovations in packaging, informed a press release.
The MoU would focus on new approaches in product positioning globally
integrated, locally tailored.
The roll of packaging in pharmaceuticals has taken an incremental leap
forward in terms of its critical importance as an integral part of the product.
The healthy growth in the global pharmaceuticals sector has been accompanied by
the increasing importance assigned to safe and efficacious packaging.
It also signifies the emergence
of packaging as the fifth "P" of pharmaceutical marketing strategy, after
product, price, place and promotion.
The outcome of a perfect blend of the drug is packaging through scientific
packaging research. The design should culminate into an optimally best, viable
and cost effective packaging system, assuring the safety, efficacy and stability
of the drug along with anti counterfeiting solutions.
Various awards would also be given away. Theses include :

Best packaging in solid dosage form

Best packaging in liquid dosage form

Best packaging in any other dosage form
According to the release, the process of application will start from May 2005
and the awards will be given away during the IPA convocation in September 2005.
